Our History

From humble beginnings at a small shop in Queensland, Australia, OzKleen’s rise to the top has been both challenging and rapid. In 1995, OzKleen opened a shop in Beenleigh, Queensland to gain a better understanding of the market and to sell directly to the public.

Within six months of opening its doors, it was clear that Shower Power was a winning formula when it outsold its other 100 products combined. Customers were driving 50 kilometres to buy a 750 ml bottle of the product.

OzKleen’s big break came when one of the major supermarket chains agreed to list its now famous bathroom cleaner “Shower Power”. The buyer took it home and tested it. Luckily for OzKleen, she found Shower Power removed a stain on her basin that she had never been able to remove. That’s what got OzKleen on the shelves, and within six months of gaining national distribution Shower Power took the number-one spot in Australia’s household cleaner category.

Today, OzKleen manufactures just a handful of products, all of which are deemed market leaders. OzKleen remains a 100% Aussie-owned business with all its innovation and liquid cleaning product manufacturing done from its Ormeau facility in Queensland.
